Annual Town Meeting

The Annual Town Meeting will be held at the Town Hall, Sheep Street at 7:30pm on Thursday 5 March 2015.

All are welcome to attend but only local government electors from the town are eligible to vote.

Agenda

1. Minutes of the Annual Town Meeting held on 6 March 2014

2. Matters Arising

3. Annual Return for year ended 31 March 2014

4. Annual Report

5. Any parochial matters raised by electors

Please be aware that it is a statutory requirement for the Town Council to hold an Annual Town Meeting. It provides an opportunity for the electorate to air their views and concerns regarding matters of a parochial nature which will be noted by the Town Council. However, no decisions or resolutions passed would be binding by law as it is not a Town Council Meeting (except a resolution by electors at a well attended meeting to provide allotments).

Councillor Ian Fradgley

Town Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon

Changes to the Park and Ride and 221 Bus Timetable

The summer Sunday service on the Park and Ride route, which would normally have been reintroduced on 5 April, 2015, will no longer operate. The reason for this change is simply that the cost of providing this particular service greatly exceeds the revenue taken.

The evening Park and Ride service, which also serves the Justins Avenue area, will be withdrawn after operation on Saturday 4 April, 2015. Again, this is due to a lack of funding.

There will be no change to the frequency of the weekday daytime Park and Ride service.

From Tuesday 6 April 2015, Service 221 will no longer serve the Park and Ride site apart from a few journeys at peak times. The service will operate as a one way loop. It will commence in Wood Street and operate via Bridge Street, Warwick Road, St Gregory's Road, Mayfield Avenue, St Mary's Road, Blackthorn Road, Blue Cap Road, Clopton Road, Justins Avenue, Birmingham Road, Guild Street, Warwick Road, Bridgeway, Bridgefoot, Bridge Street and Wood Street. It will be possible from anywhere on the route to travel through to the Rail Station for trains to Birmingham and access to Morrison's store Wood Street and the Rail Station in Alcester Road.

This service was introduced in its current form to give links from the east of town to the Parkway Station and link the Park and Ride site with Maybird. However there has been very little usage of these links. The change to this service also has the beneficial effect of avoiding conflicting bus movements in the narrow streets in this area.

Details of these service changes and the timetables will be available in due course on the Warwickshire County Council website. New timetable leaflets will be produced and will be distributed through the usual network of outlets, including libraries, tourist information centres and council offices.

CIVIL WEDDINGS AT THE TOWN HALL

The Town Hall, situated in the very heart of this delightful market town is a very beautiful building, housing not only the Town Council but providing a romantic venue for civil weddings.

This is indeed an impressive and memorable room to hold a civil ceremony. A red carpeted dais at one end of the room provides a focal point for the registrar to conduct the wedding and the room can be extended to incorporate the Committee Room which will allow for over 100 seated guests in theatre style.
