Title - Alverston Ward
Victoria Emma Alcock

Councillor Victoria Alcock was born in Great Yarmouth, the youngest of four children. The family moved to Chesterfield in 1981 and Victoria attended the local primary school and high school, before being accepted by Chesterfield College where she studied Performing Arts.

At eighteen, Victoria moved to Stratford-upon-Avon to continue her performing arts education.  She met her husband, Gary in 1998 and they married a year later at Shottery St Andrews Church. They have two children, Kerry who attends The Willows and a baby boy, Anthony.

Career History
Education behind her, Councillor Allcock worked full time for a few months at the Old Thatch Tavern before moving to Sitel selling for Powergen and won the shield as best sales person in 2000.

Changing career, Victoria became Sub Post Mistress at the post office in Drayton Avenue, before moving to Freshfields Nursery in 2003.  Although working full time, she studied hard to gain child care qualifications and completed her NVQ Level 3 in 2009, of which she is justifiably proud.

Victoria began working part time for the Royal Shakespeare Company Nursery in 2007, at their new nursery in Shottery and remains part of their committed child caring team.

Community Interests
Councillor Alcock was extremely proud to become a member of the Town Council in 2010 and despite a young family, serves on two sub-committees, Christmas Lights Switch-On and the Assets Register Working Party as well as two Standing Committees, Finance & Scrutiny and Mayoral & Protocol.

In 2009 she became a committee member of the Trinity Mead Residents Association and enjoys having a hand in directing and improving the development where she lives.

 Leisure Activities
In her very limited spare time she enjoys theatre, films and reading but her favourite past time is cooking and baking for her family.
