Vince Seaman

Councillor Vince Seaman was born in the West Country.  There, he met his wife, Joy, a teacher by profession and also a Town Councillor herself since 2006, whom he married in 1961.  They have celebrated over 47 years of marriage; have three children and six grandchildren.

Career History:
Vince has been in insurance all his working life which necessitated moving home on numerous occasions before finally coming to rest in Stratford-upon-Avon, where he retired from business nine years ago in 1995.

Community Interests:
A member of Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council for eight years, Vince was honoured to become Mayor in May 2002.  He currently chairs the Finance & Scrutiny Committee and is also a member of the Mayoral & Protocol Committee and serves on the Cemetery Working Party sub-committee.  Vince is the Council’s appointed representative to the Council for Voluntary Services.

Cllr Seaman is now a member of Stratford-on-Avon District Council following his appointment in 2003 and was elected Chairman in 2008.

Vince recently stepped down from Stratford-upon-Avon Town Trust, having held the position of Chairman of Trustees for a number of years.

Leisure Activities
Vince is an active member of a local health club where he enjoys swimming and suffers in the gym.  A keen bridge player, Vince makes a point of playing weekly.

He is also a committed Member of Rotary since joining in 1989 and is a past President of the Stratford-upon-Avon Rotary Club.
