Joan Ailsa Florence McFarlane
Liberal Democrat for Alveston since 2006

Joan was born in Birmingham and educated at the Alice Ottley School in Worcester. 

She is married to Ian and they have three daughters.

Moving to Stratford in 1978 where they have now settled, Ian’s business career previously involved the family spending varying lengths of time living in Birmingham, Belfast, London and Glasgow.

Ian Frank Fradgley
Liberal Democrat for Alveston since 2009


Councillor Ian Fradgley was born in Wordsley, Staffordshire and educated in Stourbridge, going on to universities in Birmingham and London.

Whilst at Aston University, he met the daughter of one of his tutors; they married in 1969 and moved to London. His wife, Jenny has been a Town Councillor since 2003 and became Mayor in May 2009.

Victoria Alcock

Councillor Victoria Alcock was born in Great Yarmouth, the youngest of four children. The family moved to Chesterfield in 1981 and Victoria attended the local primary school and high school, before being accepted by Chesterfield College where she studied Performing Arts.

Janette Dyson

Janette Dyson
Liberal Democrat for Alveston since 2010

Councillor Janette Dyson was born in North Manchester and educated at St Matthew’s Roman Catholic High School.

Whilst working for Royal Sun Alliance Insurance, she met her future husband Terry, and they married in 1999.  They have three children, Louis, Grace and Scarlett.

Diane Walden

Diane Walden
Liberal Democrat for Alveston since 2010

Warwickshire born Diane was brought up from the age of nine in the West Country, attending Weston-Super-Mare Girls’ Grammar School. 

Career History:
Councillor Walden started her career with Marks and Spencer joining their management training scheme.
