Councillors
Ward - Guild & Hathaway Ward

Jenny Fradgley
Liberal Democrat for Guild and Hathaway since 2002
Councillor Fradgley was born in Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire but lived as a child in Sutton Coldfield and well remembers frequent visits to Stratford.
She married her husband Ian in 1969 and settled in London. Jenny states that it was “a bit like coming home” when they moved to Stratford-upon-Avon thirty years ago. Ian and Jenny have two children, their daughter choosing to return here after university with her partner, whilst their son still prefers the Big City.

Sheila Price
Liberal Democrat for Guild and Hathaway since 2010
Born in Ebbw Vale, Sheila Price settled comfortably in Stratford-upon-Avon when her husband, Norman was appointed Deputy Treasurer of the Borough of Stratford-on-Avon in 1968. They have two sons, Stephen and Jonathan, and six grandchildren.
Career History:
As well as being a committed wife and mother, Sheila has worked for W H Smith for twenty-five years before retiring in 1997.

Shelagh Sandle
Liberal Democrat for Guild and Hathaway since 2006
War baby, Shelagh Sandle was born in Fillongley but her very first school was St Gregory’s in Henley Street, here in Stratford-upon-Avon. She lived with her family at the ‘Red Horse, in Bridge Street where her father was the manager.
His work, and later her own, as a teacher, saw Shelagh living in places as diverse as Leamington Spa, Newcastle on Tyne, Northern Ireland, North Berwick, Fareham and Watford. Throughout the intervening years, her father owned Hylands Hotel, now Hylands Residential Care Home, still a family business, so Shelagh and her young family visited Stratford-upon-Avon on many occasions before settling here permanently in 1986.

Tessa Bates
Liberal Democrat for Guild & Hathaway since 2010
Tessa’s mother, originally from Ireland came over to England to nurse. Tessa was born in London shortly before the family returned to her homeland but with literally no work available in Ireland at that time, the family moved back to England and settled in Stratford-upon-Avon when Tessa was still a baby.

William John Dowling
Liberal Democrat for Guild and Hathaway since 2002
Councillor Bill Dowling was born and bred in Stratford-upon-Avon, growing up with his brother and five sisters and attending St Gregory’s Primary School and Warwick School .
