The Town Hall, situated in the very heart of this delightful market town is a very beautiful building, housing not only the Town Council but providing a romantic venue for civil weddings.
The downstairs chambers are steeped in history and the impressive Council Chamber walls document many years of the town’s Bailiffs, Mayors, High Stewards, Town Clerks and notable persons, including William Shakespeare’s father, John Shakespeare who was Bailiff in 1568-1569.
This is indeed an imposing and memorable room to hold the civil ceremony. A red carpeted dais at one end of the room provides a focal point for the registrar to conduct the wedding and the room can be extended to incorporate the Committee Room which will allow for over 100 seated guests in theatre style. |
|
With the rooms joined together, this accords two entrances allowing you to enter towards the rear of the two chambers, and a red carpeted central isle will bring you down to either just in front of the dais, or if you would prefer, on to the dais itself which will proffer a better view for your guests.
